In April 2005, under the umbrella of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), the Government of India launched a scheme known as Janani Suraksha Yojna (JSY). The scheme is a safe motherhood intervention to reduce maternal and infant mortality by promoting institutional deliveries. Objectives:To assess the social profile, knowledge and service coverage of JSY beneficiaries. Setting & design:It was a Cross sectional descriptive study . Multi-stage Random sampling was adopted.
