There aremultifactorial causes for development ofinguinal hernia.Weakness in the fascia transversalisplays a major role in causing a inguinal hernia. There are different techniques of repair of the inguinal hernia that are currently being practiced. Traditionally, inguinal hernia repair included usage of autogenous tissue (Shouldice, Bassini, Coopers). But the use of synthetic mesh for the repair of inguinal hernia had decreased the recurrence rate. Gradually, the complications associated with the use of synthetic mesh like infections, adhesions, granulomas, fistulae, migrations, etcbecame challenging to deal with. To avoid such complications and to overcome these challenges, we will be using autologous biological tissue i.e, an expanded sac for the repair of inguinal herniain this study.
