SYNTHESIS OF BENZOTHIAZOLE DERIVATIVE, THEIR SCHIFF BASE’S AND ITS ANTIINFECTIVE BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES

Abstract
The title compounds were synthesized from p-substituted aniline and potassium thiocyanate to give 6,6’ methylenebis (4,7-dimethylbenzo[d]thiazol-2-amine) subsequently added substituted benzaldehyde in methanol to give title compounds.The newly synthesized amino benzthiazoles after purification and characterization by physical and spectral methods reacted with Ten different aromatic aldehydes to yield Schiff's Bases corresponding to them. All the prepared compound were characterized for structural confirmation by IR, 1HNMR. The prepared compounds are screened for their anti-microbial activity.
