A new species of Syzygium (Myrtaceae) from the southern Western Ghats of Kerala, India

A new species of Syzygium, S. dhaneshiana is described and illustrated from the southern Western Ghats, Kerala, India. It is similar to Syzygium gardneri Thw., but differs by the strict terminal inflorescence with yellowish-white flowers, goblet shaped hypanthium and large broadly obovoid to subglobose fruits.
