I survey recent developments in the design of low power high performance current mirror. The current mirror circuit gains its name because it copies or mirrors the current flowing in one active device in another, keeping the output current constant regardless of loading. The main current mirror design challenge is to reduce input impedance, supply voltage, power consumption as well dissipation and to increase output impedance to match today’s VLSI industry requirements. In this paper, I review current mirror design techniques at the circuit level. At the circuit level, we review FVF, DTMOS, FGMOs, GD and TS-CIA approaches.
