A surging significance in implant dentistry has demanded and hence promoted research within the field to bring about the current trends in dental implantology.Surface topography and the modifications brought about to improve the surface characteristics are promising for the betterment of osseointegration resulted.This article reveiws different surface modifications,methods to improve the surface characteristics of dental implants and the future of dental implant surfaces.
