Abstract: This study examines the impact of leadership style and organizational culture on the performance of public organizations in Malaysia through the mediating factors of organizational commitment as a background of organizational performance. The conclusion of this study is that leadership is more important to improve employee satisfaction and commitment than organizational culture. Leadership style plays a key role in improving the organizational performance of public organizations through the mediation of organizational commitment. The organizational culture also plays a role in improving the organizational performance of public organizations through the mediation of organizational commitments. Despite the differences in the research background, Western theories are applied to explain the role of Malaysian culture in the field of public organizations.
