Management Information System plays an important role in an organization. It is a computerize system that collects data from various area of the organization in operation, administration, budget and finance. The MIS processes the said data to make valuable information and then stored in the system to be used by the managers in all levels to help them manage resources and maximize profitability through strategic planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling of the operation. In today’s generation, government offices are now run by information and communication technology (ICT) and have implemented a management information system in their operations. This study will focus on the MIS of the National Food Authority (NFA), a public sector organization, called Electronic Integrated Financial and Operation Management Information System (E-Ifomis). In a financially distress agency like the NFA, the development of an effective MIS is a challenged due to budgetary constraints. Moreover, the complexity of the operation and the nationwide coverage of NFA have added to the difficulty in its design and implementation. As we go along, we will be able to find out the impact of MIS to the delivery of service of NFA to the public. More importantly, we will be able to know its importance to the accounting system of NFA and to the whole organization.
