Amid the escalating global mental health crisis, particularly among college students, dance therapy (DT) has emerged as a promising complementary intervention. Defined by the American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA) as the psychotherapeutic use of movement to enhance emotional, social, cognitive, and physical integration, DT aligns with neuroscience principles linking physical activity, emotional regulation, and neuroplasticity. This study investigates the correlation between DT and mental health outcomes among students at Hebei North University, addressing gaps in traditional treatments like medication and talk therapy. Drawing on empirical evidence including randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and meta-analyses that highlight DT's efficacy in reducing anxiety, depression, and social isolation, the research emphasizes its holistic, body-mind approach. By exploring culturally adapted DT interventions (e.g., integrating traditional practices) and technology-assisted assessments, the study aims to provide actionable strategies for universities to enhance student well-being. Findings underscore DTs potential as a scalable, non-pharmacological tool to mitigate academic stress and foster emotional resilience in educational settings.
