Cassava responds favorably to fertilization and yields can be greatly improved under optimal soil fertility conditions. Unfortunately, the response of this crop to fertilization has not yet been investigated in Burkina Faso. With the aim of proposing a cassava fertilization formula to growers, a completely randomized Fisher block design with eight (08) treatments and four (04) replications was set up in the Cascades region. The treatments, which involved varying the density of cuttings, fertilizer and/or compost doses, are presented as follows: PP (farmers practice): (spacing 1 m x 0.75 m) + 100 kg/ha (NPK) + 50 kg/ha (Urea) + 2 t/ha (compost); T0: (spacing 1 m x 1 m) + zero fertilizer; T1: (spacing 1 m x 1 m) + 150 kg/ha (NPK); T2: (spacing 1 m x 1 m) + 300 kg/ha (NPK); T3: T1 + 4 t/ha (compost); T4: T2 + 8 t/ha (compost); T5: (1 m x 0.75 m) + 150 kg/ha (NPK) + 4 t/ha (compost); T6: (1 m x 0.75 m) + 300 kg/ha (NPK) + 8 t/ha (compost). Data were collected on cassava growth and yield parameters. (compost). Data were collected on cassava growth and yield parameters. The study showed that treatment T4 favored growth in diameter (21.36 cm) and height (152.35 cm) of cassava plants owth in diameter (21.36 cm) and height (152.35 cm) of cassava plants. The same treatment produced the largest (46.10 mm) and longest tubers (39.80 cm).
