In an era of reinvention with in Franco phone African theater, characterized by the search for innovative dramatic expression, this article examines the works of TogoleseplaywrightAyayiTogoataApedo-Amah, whosetheaterisdefined by an aestheticcentered on political reality. Confronted with a form of the atrical writing that transcend Straditional literary engagement to portray socio political realities especially under regimes of dictatorship and repression the study addresses the challenge of understanding how these formal and scriptural innovations effectively express and elevatepolitical experience. To achievethis, two complementary literary approaches are employed: Louise Vigeant stheatersemiology, whichprovides the tools to decode the symbols and language of the spectacle, and Brechtian distancing, whiche stablishes a critical detachment in the audience to bettergrasp the underlyingpolitical issues.
