The Mopti region in central Mali faces a double vulnerability. On the one hand, it suffers from persistent insecurity due to the presence of armed groups non-state and the low representativeness of state authority, and on the other hand, climatic pressures that compromise the availability and equitable access to natural resources. In this context, environmental conflicts particularly over land, water and pastures are increasing and threatening the social cohesion of local communities. This study explores local responses to these tensions in a rural commune in Bandiagara. Using a qualitative methodology based on interviews, field observations and analysis of community documents, the article identifies the main types of conflicts, the actors involved and the regulatory mechanisms in place. The results show a reconfiguration of local governance modes, marked by the weakening of customary regulations, the rise of hybrid initiatives, but also the sometimes-ambiguous influence of external actors (NGOs, armed groups, elected officials). The study highlights the importance of strengthening local capacities for peaceful resource management with a view to resilience, social equity and peacebuilding.
