The treatment of space and time in the Francophone African novel involves camouflage and/or referential designation. Thus, reading the works of Tierno Monenembo requires an effort to reconstruct geodesic and temporal reference points in order to access the deeper meaning offered by the texts. This article aims to methodically analyze five novels by this Franco-Guinean author in the light of geocriticism, poetics, and narratology. The novels in question are LAIne des orphelins, Le Roi de Kahel, Le Terroriste noir, Bled, and Saharienne Indigo. The study ultimately shows that fiction in Monenembos work is inseparable from his personal culture and from contemporary world history, which he strives to deconstruct with considerable skill.
