The commune of Abobo, located in the north of the Abidjan district in Cote dIvoire, has been frequently threatened by recurrent floods in recent decades. Numerous studies have identified various crucial factors in the flood risk of the commune, including slope, rainfall intensity, drainage network density, land use and occupation, as well as population density, etc. The overall objective of this study is to establish a flood risk map for the commune of Abobo to facilitate the effective prevention and management of severe floods. To achieve this, the techniques and data employed include remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Saaty Multi-Criteria Analysis, in particular, Landsat OLI image processing, Digital Elevation Models (DEM), as well as rainfall and demographic data. Cartographic analyses carried out using Arc GIS Pro and ENVI 5.3 software were used to produce the various maps used in the study, including flood risk and vulnerability maps. The hazard and vulnerability maps produced were integrated into the GIS to map flood risk areas in the municipality of Abobo. This resulted in five main flood risk classes or categories, ranging from very low to very high risk. This risk map is a valuable decision-making tool for flood risk prevention and management in the municipality of Abobo. Keywords: Flood, cartography, satellite image, rainfall, land use
