In the novel Zindagi 50-50, the tragedy of the transgender community is depicted on the basis of the above issues, bringing to light the harsh reality of society where a person is not treated as a human being due to their gender identity. Transgender individuals are subjected to social exclusion from a very early age; they are separated from their family, school, and society. This forced isolation and social neglect adversely affect their mental and emotional condition, which in turn influences their overall life situation. In the novel, transgender characters continuously struggle with their gender identity. Due to the lack of respectable employment opportunities, they are confined to occupations such as seeking alms or begging for ceremonial rewards. They are deprived of family support and emotional belonging. At the same time, the novel clearly shows that transgender people, like all other human beings, desire dignity, security, and love. However, society hesitates to grant them these basic human rights. Thus, the tragedy of transgender individuals in Zindagi 50-50 is not merely a personal suffering but a strong critique of societys insensitive mindset. The author compels readers to reflect on the fact that equality and humane behavior should not remain mere slogans, but must become a shared social responsibility.
