The article explores the integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) with Mobile Edge Computing using a Software-Defined Networking (SDN) approach. The main goal is to enhance network efficiency and management in IoT environments by leveraging SDN capabilities at the edge.SDN enables centralized network control, allowing for dynamic configuration and programmability of network infrastructure. The study highlights how this approach can improve the performance of IoT applications deployed at the edge while ensuring efficient resource utilization. In conclusion, adopting SDN within Edge Computing for IoT offers new opportunities for creating smarter and more adaptable networks, capable of meeting growing demands for connectivity and data processing at the networks periphery. The combination of IoT and Mobile Edge Computing provides significant advantages in terms of data proximity and reduced latency for applications. However, effective resource management remains a major challenge. This article proposes an SDN-oriented approach to improve resource handling in this context. By applying SDN principles, the approach enables more dynamic orchestration of network resources, leading to better adaptation to changing IoT application needs and more efficient resource allocation.
