DETERMINATION DU POTENTIEL EN LIGNEUX FOURRAGERS DANS LES ZONES D APPROVISIONNEMENT DU DISTRICT DE BAMAKO : CAS DU TERROIR DE BAALA DANS LA COMMUNE RURALE DE SANANKOROBA, CERCLE DE KATI AU MALI

This study addresses the issue of woody fodder supply in urban centers in Mali. Its objective is to determine the potential for woody fodder in the supply areas of the Bamako district. The study was conducted in the village territory of Baala,located in the rural commune of Sanankoroba. The transect method was used. Five 350 meter transects were established, each comprising three rectangular plots. A phytoecological inventory was carried out in each plot, where all woody species present were recorded and counted. A total of 62 woody species were identified, belonging to 48 genera and 23 families. The dominant families were: Fabaceae(27.42%),Combretaceae(17.74%), Anacardiaceae (8.07%), and Rubiaceae (8.06%). The most significant specific contributions were recorded respectively in Ximenia americana (7.92%), Grewia bicolor (5.39%), Combretum glutinosum (4.84%), Bombax costatum (4.62%) and Acacia macrostachya (4.5%).A survey was conducted to determine the importance of fodder trees for the population of Baala. The method used was a focus group. The survey revealed that these trees are used for food, construction, traditional medicine, as fodder, and as firewood.
