The Vedas are the foundation of Indian culture. The ideal form of all aspects of culture is embedded in the Vedas. Not only in Indian literature, but in the entire history of humankind, no other ancient text greater than the Vedas has been discovered so far. The Vedas are four in number—Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda, and Atharvaveda. These are also called the Samhitas. The Vedas contain all kinds of knowledge.
