Vedic knowledge, in its principal branch in the form of Yoga, influences all aspects of human life. The practice of Yoga, based on psychological and spiritual foundations, integrates all elements of well-being and healing of the mind and body, and is extremely essential for a comprehensive and meaningful approach to health benefits. Particularly, under non-communicable diseases, cardiovascular diseases account for approximately 50 percent of the current global mortality rate. Although numerous medicinal treatments for the cure and management of these diseases are easily available at present, their psychosomatic side effects are often observed to be many times greater than the benefits of treatment. Therefore, to eradicate cardiovascular diseases from their roots, natural and highly effective strategies such as stress management and a healthy lifestyle through Yoga are being widely adopted.
