The authors report on the isolation of a flavone (5,7,4`-trihydroxy-5`-methoxylflavone).This is a first isolation for such flavone from the Sudanese material of Tamarix nilotica. The flavonoid was isolated from the n-butanol fraction by column chromatography.The structure was elucidated by a combination of analytical tools ( UV,IR,1H NMR,13C NMR,HMBC and MS).
