Abstract
Heavy metals are an important group of chemical contaminants and food is the major vehicle for entry into the system. Fish and fishery products are constitute a major source of heavy metals in food.This observations deals with the human health risk assessment of metal accumulation through the consumption of fresh water fish Channa striata form Kolleru Lake the concentration of zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), nickel(Ni) lead (Pb),cadmium (Cd) and mercury (Hg) were investigated in muscle and liver of fish in this area. The study explains the metal concentration in the fish and leads to health risk assessment in the human beings.
