POWER SHORTAGE FOR THE INDUSTRIAL SECTOR IN KERALA AND THEIR PROBLEMS.

Abstract

This paper aims at studying the factors responsible for the power shortage for the industrial sector in Kerala and figure out their problems. We will discuss the introduction, Kerala power sector projections, power state in kerala,Energy source of Kerala etc. while studying we will suggest the conclusion and recommendations in order to get rid from the problem of power shortage in Kerala state region. Energy is an essential input for economic development and improving the quality of life. Development of conventional forms of energy for meeting the growing needs of society at a reasonable cost is the responsibility of the Government Development and promotion of non-conventional /alternative/ new and renewable sources of energy such as solar, wind and bio energy etc. are getting sustained attention. Nuclear energy development being geared up to contribute significantly to the overall energy availability in the country. The industrial production capacity of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) in Kerala has declined past years alone due to power crisis, and, if the trend continues, small industries will face a bleak future.
