Abstract
A vital population of Physa acuta, a globally invasive species of freshwater gastropods was reported in Ivory Coast. Species identity was con?rmed by conchological and anatomical methods. The occurrence of this population seems to be restricted to a single disturbed urban lake at Yamoussoukro, and physids occured in great abundances in this polluted lake. Physa acuta was associated with important amount of conductivity and TDS, and greater values of Fecal Coliforms. It likely that the species will further spread via active and/or passive dispersal across large distances, enhanced by environmental change.
