Neonatal infection is common in developing countries and a major cause of neonatal deaths.The incidence of the various fungal pathogens has increased dramatically over the past few decades .Candida spp. is the most common of these pathogens. These infections are often severe, rapidly progressive, difficult to diagnose and refractory to therapy. The combination of suppressed host defense and exposure to multiple risk factors is responsible for their emergence.
