Abstract

Ganglioneuroma is a rare benign nervous tumor frequently located in the retroperitoneal area. We report the case of a 58-year-old woman who was hospitalized for exploratory abdominal pain associated with vomiting lasting 3 months. Abdominal CT scan revealed a large left para-aortic retroperitoneal mass of 70 mm long axis. A median laparotomy was done. The tumor was soft and movable. A total exeresis was performed. The pathology examination had conclude in a benign ganglioneuroma. The follow-up was two years. Retroperitoneal ganglioneuroma is a benign tumor with a good prognosis. The treatement is surgical.
