Abstract

The reactivity of three regio-isomers of dihydroxybenzoic acid in aqueous medium has been assessed on a quantitative scaffold by voltammetry. The rapid iodination kinetics of these isomers by aqueous molecular iodine solutions devoid of iodide ions has been investigated and the data invoked to elucidate the steric compulsions in the dynamics of these reactions.
