Abstract
Problem-Based Learning (PBL) oriented to Lesson Study for Learning Community (LSLC) is a learning model that begins with the presentation of real-life problems experienced by students in everyday life. This learning model, which comprises of the elements in collaborative learning, caring community and jumping task, aims to put students at ease in understanding concept or knowledge. This study aimed to describe students? activity in Problem-Based Learning (PBL) oriented to Lesson Study for Learning Community (LSLC) in learning. The research participants were 36 students at grade 8 in a junior high school in Banyuwangi regency, East Java, Indonesia. Research data were collected through observation on learning activities, interviews, video recordings, and photographs. The findings evinced that students? activity was aligned with the characteristics of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) oriented to Lesson Study for Learning Community (LSLC) by reviewing and presenting problems, developing strategy, applying strategy, discussing and evaluating the results. This learning model also activated the elements of caring community, collaborative learning and jumping task.
