CUTANEOUS NECROSIS INDUCED BY ENOXAPARIN IN OLD FEMALE WITH PROSTHETIC MITRAL VALVE REPLACEMENT AFTER ELECTIVE CARPAL TUNNEL RELEASE
Abstract
The LMW heparin (enoxaparin) has been shown to be effective (LMWH) for preventing venous thromboembolism, particularly in orthopedic surgerythat associated mainlywith restrictionof mobility. This article reviews detailed history, examination and investigations ofa 76-year-old female patient who underwent to elective Carpel Tunnel Syndromerelease andcomplained of rare life-threatening necrotizing skin lesion at the site of Enoxaparin injection, without concomitant Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia.
