Abstract
Introduction:The study aims to compare the microleakage in class 2 cavities restored with 2 methacrylate-based composites using bulk & incremental techniques.
Materials and method:Twenty six human premolars freshly extracted were used to prepare class 2 cavities of width and height of 3 mm on both mesial and distal sides with 1mm sound tooth structure in between them following which the cavities were etched bonded and restored with FILTEK Z350XT by incremental technique in mesial side and bulk technique in distal half group1 and group 2 respectively , similarly in group 3 CERAM X DUO was restored in incremental technique on mesial side and in group 4 CERAM X DUO was restored using bulk technique on distal side and cured for 20 secs following which the samples were thermocycled and immersed in rhodamine dye and evaluated under confocal microscope for microleakage.
