Abstract

The pneumorachis or the presence of intraspinal air, is a rare

entity of fortuitous discovery which can be of traumatic, infectious,

iatrogenic origin or more rarely associated with a spontaneous pneumomediastinum. This pathology is usually asymptomatic, the air resolvesspontaneously and completely by passing into the bloodstream. Wereport a very rare case of cervico-dorsal pneumorachis complicatingspontaneous pneumomediastinum and cervical subcutaneousemphysema revealed by spinal pain and whose cause was a severeasthma attack.
