ANXIETE ET DEPRESSION CHEZ LES PATIENTS HOSPITALISES EN CARDIOLOGIE

Background:Depressive and anxietydisorders in patients withcardiovasculardisease (CVD) are frequentlyunder-diagnosed and under-treated. Throughourstudy, wewillevaluateanxiety and depression in these patients and determine the factorswhich are associatedwithit.

Material And Method: This is a cross-sectional observationalstudy, conducted over twomonths. It evaluated patients hospitalized in cardiologyusing a questionnaire for sociodemographic and clinicalcharacteristics and the HADS. The resultswereanalysed by the chi-square test and the Spearman test using the JAMOVI software.

Results: 60 participants wererecruited, 58.3% were men, theywere 61.5 yearsold [5469]. 78.3% weremarried, 46.7% wereretired, 39% were middle class and 86.9% lived in urban areas. The prevalence of anxietywas 33.3% and depressionwas 43.3%. The factorssignificantlyassociatedwithdepressionweresocio-economiclevel (p = 0.008), reason for admission (p = 0.002), anxietystatus (p< 0.001) and psychiatrichistory (p = 0.01). For anxiety, the parametersthatwerestatisticallysignificantweresocio-economiclevel (p = 0.038), urbanresidence (p = 0.013), psychiatrichistory (p < 0.001) and the presence of depressivesymptoms (p = 0.008).

Conclusion: Our results highlighted the interest of screening and earlydiagnosis of anxeity and depressivedisorders and the importance of psychiatric liaison in the integrative and multidisciplinary management in order to reducemorbidity and improveprognosis of CVD.
