Abstract

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a common neuro-developmental disorder in children who require special oral health care. ASD Children with uncontrolled body movements, impaired social interaction and intellectual disabilities are commonly treated in the normal dental clinics. The dental professionals in our region did not cover any previous training about this disorder during their studies and they have different experiences dealing with this disability. In this study, we aim to study dentists awareness and experiences in dealing with the ASD children in the south region of Saudi Arabia.
