The prolapse of the umbilical cord constitutes an obstetric emergency during the period of laborinvolving the fetal prognosis. It is defined as the fall of the cord in front of the presentation, the membranes being ruptured. Knowledge of the risk factors often makes it possible to prevent this pathology and to diagnose it early by increasing vigilance. It can occur when the fetal presentation is cephalic but also when it is transverse or podalic which are moreover more at risk because they constitute a hindrance to the fetomaternal accommodation. Our study is retrospective and descriptive, spread over a period of one year extending from January to December 2020 and relating to a series of 24 cases of cord prolapse in the maternity ward at the CHU Hassan II in Fez. All cases of cord prolapse occurring after 24 weeks of pregnancy were included in the study.
