Abstract
Introduction : do not adopt correct working posture can lead to occupational diseases. Theobjective of this work is to evaluate the knowledge, attitudes and practices of 4th and 5th yeardental students regarding work positions.
Material and Methods: This was a cross-sectionalobservational study conducted among 4th, 5thand 6thyear dental students atAbulcasisInternationalUniversityofHealthSciencesinRabat,Morocco.Themediumofthesurveywasan anonymous and individual questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using Jamovisoftware. A difference was considered significant when p < 0.05.
Result: Out of the 123studentsparticipatinginthestudy,Fourth-yearstudentswerethemostrepresentedinthisstudywith48(39%)participants.111(90.2%)respondentstudentshadreceivedtrainingonergonomicsandworkingpostures.99(80.5%)studentsreportedapplyingergonomicsprinciples to their daily practice.Student levels of knowledge regarding ergonomics andworkingpostureswereaverageoverall.Studentsstatedthattheyalwaysadjustedtheirworkingposture depending on the procedure to be performed in 53 (48%) of the cases. In practice,workingposturesadopteddependingontheareatobetreatedwerehighlyvariable
Conclusion:Thepresentstudyprovidesanoverviewofstudentsknowledge,attitudesandpracticesregardingworkpositions.Thefindingwaspositiveeventhoughthestudyonlyreflectsstudentsopinions on work positions.
