DEVELOPMENT OF A RESIDENTIAL INTRUSION DETECTION AND PREVENTION SYSTEM USING MICROCONTROLLER AND SENSOR NETWORKS
Abstract
This paper offers an innovative approach to home security through the development of an intrusion detection and prevention system based on the integration of microcontrollers and sensor networks. With tests carried out in controlled environments, the system demonstrated a remarkable detection rate of suspicious activity, reaching an average of 95%. The effectiveness of the preventive measures activated by the system was around 90%. A relevant highlight is the systems ability to proactively react to detected threats, including activating alarms, sending notifications, and blocking access, contributing to the protection of homes in a context of increasing automation and connectivity. The work presented highlights the importance of smarter and more personalized security solutions, capable of addressing the contemporary challenges of connected homes.
