THE ROLE OF SUGAMMADEX IN THORACIC SURGERY: A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW

Sugammadex, a modified gamma-cyclodextrin, has revolutionized the field of anesthesia by providing a rapid and reliable reversal of neuromuscular blockade induced by rocuronium and vecuronium. This review explores the clinical applications, mechanisms of action, and benefits of sugammadex in thoracic surgery, with a focus on its role in reducing postoperative complications, particularly residual neuromuscular blockade.
