Non-timber forest products play a significant role in improving the living conditions of local populations. This study aims to evaluate the production of djansang in the NgambeTikar locality by identifying the stakeholders, assessing production and marketing. To evaluate this product, we first carried out a literature review related to the exploitation of NTFPs. We then carried out surveys using questionnaires on a sample of 115 producers across five villages in the Ngambe-Tikar district: BengBeng, Gam, Ngoume, Mambioko, and Mangong. 85 traders were surveyed across five markets: Bafoussam Markets A and B, Foumban market, Douala central and New Bell Markets. Data were collected using the kobocollect software and analysed with statistical software. The figures were reproduced on the Excel spreadsheet. The results show that production is done exclusively by women. The pick-up is often done on long distances and processing steps include pulping, washing, cooking, crushing and drying. The production of 15 liters of djansang requires seven working days. The average production cost of 15 liters of djansang is estimated CFA 10240 F on all the study sites. The average saling price is estimated CFA 18000 F with a gross margin at least CFA 7760 F in abundance period and CFA 11760 F in shortage period. Producers gross margins also vary. There are higher margins in villages where producers are better organized. Wholesalers and wholesaler-retailers are making profits, with higher gross margins in urban markets. Retailers may incur losses in abundance periods, but make significant profits in shortage period.
