The present research attempts to understand how, in the writing of the Franco-Senegalese Fatou Diome, the theme of immigration resurfaces and augurs in the reader's mind the crystallization of a scriptural obsession. The making of the narrative in this novelist translates into a kind of palimpsest where, like a hiccup, the theme of immigration and all its corollaries constitute a pretext for her constantly reworked writing. The objective of this study is to demonstrate that the author's navel-gazing attachment to this theme is part of a manifest desire to denounce the societal excesses linked to the vagaries of immigration. The hypothesis of this reflection is that Fatou Diome's fictional work is presented as a mirror that reflects its own mire to contemporary society. This is how the study summons the sociocritical approach to elucidate the behaviors of the characters as well as the social issues that articulate the universe of the stories studied at itsLa Préférencenationale Le Ventre de l Atlantique Celles qui attendant and Inassouvies, nos vies.It emerges from the analysis that the real in Dioms writing lends itself to being read as a joke against the social stereotypes in vogue in contemporary society.
