THE TRUTH ABOUT THE WORLD OF EDUCATION IN ANOTHER DRONACHARYA PLAY
Abstract
The playwright in Ek Aur Dronacharya has criticized the distortions and ironies of the education system in this play. The presented play has revealed the secrets of politics in the current education system, commercialization of education, problems of the education system, and the story of power. It has been shown in this play how, under the pressure of power and system, an idealistic teacher is forced to compromise with his principles. Due to this, the teacher struggles with his own moral values and ideals. The play, while touching upon the problems of the education world, compels the audience to think about how politics and selfishness have found a place in the education system. As a result, even intellectuals lose their identity, meaning this play attacks the education system while exposing the corruption, disorder, and commercialization prevalent in the current education system. Along with this, it presents the decline of morality and the modern context of Dronacharya before us. It also indicates how the modern Dronacharya has suffered misery due to the system.
