Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently experiencing unprecedented growth and is profoundly transforming our societies, professional practices, and ways of life. Thanks to its ability to analyze large amounts of data and automate complex tasks, AI provides increasingly efficient, high-performing, and personalized services. It is now integrated into numerous sectors such as healthcare, transportation, the economy, and more recently, education. However, this rapid development is accompanied by major challenges, particularly regarding information security and compliance with ethical principles. In the field of education, the growing adoption of AI-based technologies such as adaptive learning platforms, performance monitoring systems, and automated assessment tools raises particular concerns. These tools rely heavily on the collection, storage, and analysis of students personal data, sometimes including sensitive information such as academic results, learning behaviors, or biometric data. This large scale exploitation of data raises crucial issues related to privacy protection, informed consent, and the responsible use of personal information. The ethical risks associated with the use of AI in education are numerous. They include the possibility of data breaches, algorithmic biases that may lead to discrimination, and a lack of transparency regarding how automated systems operate. Furthermore, the absence of clear regulatory frameworks, or their insufficient enforcement, may expose students to abusive or uncontrolled use of their personal data. These challenges highlight the need for in-depth reflection on AI ethics and on data protection mechanisms within educational environments.
