Abstract
This study examines the evolving role and leadership potential of women artists in the tradition of Hindustani classical music. Focusing particularly on the lives and contributions of Annapurna Devi and Kesarbai Kerkar, it analyzes how these eminent musicians challenged traditional conventions and presented powerful examples of musical autonomy.
