Abstract
The Thirukkural, composed by Thiruvalluvar over two millennia ago, is a classical Tamil text in Indian literature. It consists of 1,330 couplets that provide moral guidance on human life, governance, and social conduct. This study explores the relevance and applicability of Thirukkural principles in contemporary business practices. Using a qualitative research design and thematic content analysis, selected couplets were interpreted in the context of modern management concepts such as leadership, corporate ethics, human resource management, financial prudence, and customer relations. Findings indicate that the ethical framework of Thirukkural aligns closely with current models of sustainable business and responsible leadership. The findings suggest that integrating traditional ethical wisdom into modern business education and organizational practices can enhance long-term performance, social responsibility, and organizational harmony.
