COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF OVARIAN RESERVE AFTER LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY FOR ENDOMETRIOTIC AND NON-ENDOMETRIOTIC OVARIAN CYSTS

Laparoscopic surgery is widely used for the management of benign ovarian masses because of its minimally invasive nature and favorable postoperative recovery; however, concerns remain regarding its potential impact on ovarian reserve, particularly in women with endometriotic cysts. This prospective observational study, conducted in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at SMS Medical College, Jaipur, between March 2023 and January 2024, evaluated changes in ovarian reserve following laparoscopic management of benign ovarian masses using serum anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels. Thirty women aged 18–38 years undergoing laparoscopic cystectomy were included. Serum AMH levels were measured preoperatively, on postoperative day 7, and postoperative day 30, while follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) levels were assessed preoperatively and on postoperative day 2.
