KNOWLEDGE ATTITUDE AND BARRIERS ABOUT TAKING FLU VACCINE AMONG ELDERLY DIABETIC PATIENTS IN CLUSTER ONE IN RIYADH CITY: A CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY

Introduction: The patients at high risk of severe effects of the seasonal influenza affecting the patients with diabetes mellitus are elderly patients. Though the Saudi Ministry of Health has been making efforts to avail free vaccinations by restructured health clusters, there is still poor uptake. The particular socio demographic factors and psychological obstacles should be understood in order to enhance the rate of immunization in the context of the Riyadh Health Cluster One. Objective: The purpose of the study was to evaluate the levels of knowledge and attitude and barriers to the seasonal influenza vaccine among elderly diabetic patients in Riyadh City and to determine the demographic variables that affect the use of the vaccine and its perception.
