Abstract

Football places heavy physical strain on players, and coaching staff is turning more and more to objective, continuous data instead of manual observation to manage training load, tactics, and injury risk. The combination of Internet of Things (IoT) wearable sensors and artificial intelligence (AI) has produced monitoring systems that can track physiological and biomechanical variables in real time,but the resulting research is spread across sports science, biomedical engineering, and computer science literature. No single review currently brings together how IoT wearable sensors and AI techniques are being combined specifically for football performance monitoring, what benefits and limitations these systems bring, or where the field is headed next. This study looks at what people have written about using artificial intelligence to monitor football players performance with special sensors. The goal is to get a picture of the technology, how it is used, what is good and bad about it, and where it is going. The study is based on looking at what other people have written.
