Abstract
This article examines student assessment as a personalized, empowering, and objective process. It draws on a criterion-referenced and dynamic conception of evaluation, in which student progress is interpreted against explicit success criteria rather than through comparison among peers. Grounded in a socioconstructivist approach, this perspective positions the student as an active participant in the learning process and places strong emphasis on constructive feedback.Three complementary tools are presented and linked together: the descriptive rating scale, which sharpens and objectifies the teacher's professional judgment by making levels of mastery explicit; the self-assessment grid, which fosters metacognition and self-regulation by prompting students to critically review their own work, ideally before final submission; and the peer-assessment grid, which mobilizes critical judgment and dialogue among students, provided they have already mastered self-assessment.The article concludes with a comparative table of the three tools and practical recommendations for integrating them progressively into a coherent, structured teaching practice oriented toward the success of every student.
