Abstract
Diode laser phototherapy is a non-thermal therapy that uses light sources to stimulate cellular processes in patients with drug-associated osteonecrosis of the jaw. Its mechanism acts at the mitochondrial level, increasing ATP production and activating cytochrome c oxidase to accelerate tissue repair. Clinically, it has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, as well as antimicrobial properties when used with sensitizers, thus achieving complete regeneration in early stages. In advanced stages, it acts as an effective adjunct to surgery and platelet concentrates to promote angiogenesis.
