Abstract
Background: Existing syntheses of endodontic robotics import autonomy terminology from implant robotics, separate the macro- and micro-robotic literatures, and report performance without appraising the evidence. Methods: This integrative review searched PubMed to 31 July 2026, supplemented by Google Scholar and citation tracking, purposively selecting 61 records graded on the OCEBM 2011 hierarchy and assigned technology-readiness levels. No human participants or animals were involved; ethical approval was not applicable. Conclusion: The bottleneck is translational rather than conceptual.
