Abstract
Background: In recent years, dengue fever has become a public health issue due to ots high global prevalence. In Mexico, it has been shown that socioeconomic status plays a role in the disease; furtheremore, patients with comorbilities such as type 2 diabetes mellitus is a risk factor for dengue mortality in the OOAD Veracruz Sur during the years 2020-2024. Objective: To determinate the risk of mortality from dengue in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus during the years 2020-2024 in the OOAD Veracruz Sur. Materials and Methods:A case-control study with a 1:3 ratio (93 cases and 279 controls) was conducted, utilizing patient records from SISMOR (Mortality System) regarding dengue cases within the Veracruz South OOAD.
