Abstract
Background: In todays real estate markets, property development has morphed from a basic building business into a highly complex lifestyle brand environment. Real estate developers are using branding, exclusivity, and consumer psychology to command higher prices. However, the existing academic literature tends to segregate property economics from theories of consumer behavior. This paper is a secondary narrative review that draws on cross-disciplinary research to explore the inter-relationships between symbolic value, experiential marketing and psychological signalling mechanisms that together turn modern residential complexes into high-equity lifestyle assets. Methods: A complete secondary search was performed using the major academic databases, including ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Library, Emerald Publishing,Taylor & Francis Online and SpringerLink. Studies published from 2010 to 2026 were vetted and selected based on real estate marketing, brand equity, consumer culture theory, and premium pricing models. The literature was rigorously synthesised through thematic analysis to identify the psychological and economic characteristics of real estate branding.
